The Cardinal District Day Camp is scheduled for the week of June 17-21 at Deep Run Park. The theme this year is Space Camp.This is an awesome opportunity for Cub Scouts and Welbelos to have a ton of fun while earning a variety of belt loops and pins!
The weather did not cooperate with our planned build night, so it has been rescheduled to Wednesday, 1/17, at 6pm in the CCE Garage. If this day does not work for you and you need assistance, please reach out to me directly at brosnihan@gmail.com and I will work with you to schedule a time to get you assistance.
As you know we have our Holiday Pack Meeting scheduled for Monday, December 14th. This is a Pack Meeting you are not going to want to miss. We will be having some very special guests brought to us by Reptile Adventures. Yes, Reptile Adventures!!! Join us for an evening of meeting and learning about some of these misunderstood reptiles and amphibians. Possible visitors are: Burmese Python, Red Tail Boa, Green Iguana, Glass Lizard, Spur Thigh Tortoise, just to name a few. Parents, since this is a very special visit, please explain to the Scouts and any brothers and sisters that will be attending that they need to be on their best behavior so everyone can hear the presentation and get the maximum amount of fun out of the special visitors. We will be starting the Pack meeting at 6:30 pm promptly in the Garage Building at Christ Church Episcopal. (If you are interested in learning more about Reptile Adventures and what you have to look forward to Monday night, check out their website at http://www.reptileadventure.biz/About.html)
Because of some scheduling conflicts, primarily due to the REES Spring Carnival scheduled for the same Friday as our Spring Family Campout on May 2nd, Leadership voted to reschedule the Campout and effected events for May/June.
All events have been updated on the Pack calendar; however I have listed them below for your convenience;
2014 Spring Family Campout from May 2nd – 4th to May 16th – 18th
2014 Family Picnic (scouting year-end) from May 30th to June 6th
Sports Night (Summer Event #1) from June 6th to June 20th
Calling all returning scout families: Are you planning to return for the 2023-2024 scouting year? Do you have another scout who's ready to join? We need your help to plan for our upcoming scouting year - from having enough materials at the Kick-off event to ensuring we have the right number of den leaders to guide all of our scouts through the program year.
Returning scouts need to register for the 2016-2017 program at the pack / parent meeting on September 26. We will also be accepting payment and medical forms for the fall camp out.
To register your scout, please submit the initial payment of the Pack Activity Fee, which will remain unchanged at $65, together with a completed medical form (a blank form is attached to this announcement). We will only be accepting payments of check or cash during the first few meetings (no credit cards... yet).
When a scout is registered, he will receive the following: new neckerchief, slide and belt buckle (rising Wolves, Bears and Webelos 1 only). Scouts in these dens will also receive their new handbook if they did not receive it during the summer.
Pack Activity Fee: Once again, the total Pack Activity Fee will be $200. As noted above, the initial payment is $65, with the balance of $135 (less popcorn and peanut sales credit) payable after the popcorn / peanut campaign. Scouts who sell popcorn and peanuts will receive credit of 30% of gross sales.
Medical Forms: Updated medical forms are required for all returning scouts. Medical forms are required for everyone who attends the camp out - including siblings and parents. If you think your family will attend the fall camp out, please submit a medical form for all camping family members.
