Founded in the Fall of 1999, Pack 788 is a Cub Scout organization in the Far West End of Henrico County, Virginia. This Pack was formed as a smaller alternative to the Packs supporting Shady Grove & Twin Hickory Elementary Schools, also allowing for an alternate day of the week for meetings.
The Pack is sponsored by Christ Church Episcopal, 5000 Pouncey Tract Road, in Glen Allen. The Church provides us with support and meeting space, and we, in return, work with the Church, and other organizations, on community service projects - an integral part of Scouting.
In Fall 2003, Pack 788 began recruiting at the new Rivers Edge Elementary School in Glen Allen. In 2015, Pack 788 began recruiting from David Kaechele Elementary School as well.
Pack 788 meets at Christ Church Episcopal (5000 Pouncey Tract Rd, Glen Allen, VA 23059).
- Dens meet every Monday from late-September through late-May.
- 6:00-7:00PM – Lions (KG), Tigers (1st Grade), Wolves (2nd Grade), Bears (3rd Grade)
- 7:00-8:00PM – Webelos (4th Grade), Arrow of Light (5th Grade)
- Pack meetings are held with ALL scouts and their guardians once a month (third or fourth Monday of the month).
- 6:00-7:30PM – Pack Meetings
Pack 788 does not meet when Henrico County Public Schools are closed, including for student holidays and inclement weather. However, there may be some exceptions. Please refer to this website and the weekly eNewsletter to view our up-to-date calendar.
During the summer months, the Pack continues with special summer-time activities once a month, as well as attending both Cub Scout Day Camp and Cub Scout Adventure Camp, sponsored respectively by the James River District and the Heart of Virginia Council.
Our success in having a healthy Pack 788 comes from the parent volunteers. Cub Scouting is an organization where parents need to actively participate with their sons and daughters. It is essential, therefore that the parents of every scout be willing to invest some time to help them grow with Scouting.
