We will be camping at First Landing State Park, located on the beach in Virginia Beach, VA (~2.5 hrs drive). All Scouts and their family members are invited. The cost is $20 per person with a cap of $80 per family and it covers food for Saturday and Sunday and the campsite reservation. To attend, you must complete ALL of the following by Monday, October 7th:
This year we would like to focus on what we can do to help those that are less fortunate than ourselves or are facing some difficult challenges during this time of year. That is why we will be supporting several community service projects and activities during the Pack Meeting. You can help by providing a new or gently used children's book for the Children's Hospital. Every child that comes through the doors of the emergency room of the Children's Hospital receives a book to provide comfort and refuge for that child during a very scary time. If you choose, you can also provide a new or gently used blanket. These blankets will be taken and given to CARITAS (Congregations Around Richmond Involved to Assure Shelter) who provide homeless individuals and families with shelter through a network of churches and other organizations in the Richmond area. They also operate a shelter downtown during this time of year and blankets are in great demand as you can guess with the cold weather. Participation in either of these activities is optional but your help in making these donations possible will be greatly appreciated. Activities for the Scouts and their siblings for the evening will include making Holiday cards for a local senior center, Holiday ornaments craft activity for Scouts and Siblings to take home, making a fleece blanket or two to donate to CARITAS, and of course gifts for the Scouts and refreshments for all. We hope that all members of the Pack 788 family can make it Monday night. It is a great evening of community service, fun, fellowship and food.
Pack 788 is now enrolling new Cub Scouts (1st - 5th grade boys). If there is a boy in you family who is interested in joining the Cub Scouts, we invite you to attend our Join Scouting events.
